Shipping policy

Shipping costs

We have set our shipping rates to reflect the cost of actually sending your parcel, combining multiple items purchased into a single parcel if possible. If we were to offer "free shipping" then we would have to include a sum to cover the cost of shipping in the cost of each item. If you ordered multiple items you would essentially be paying for shipping on each item separately.

Although we really hate having to add shipping costs to the cost of your order, we feel that this is the best way to give you the cheapest over-all price

Packaging

When we order items from our suppliers and wholesalers we get a lot of packaging. I know we can't save the planet on our own, but it seems ridiculous to us to throw away those boxes, bags, bubble-wrap etc and then buy more of them in order to then send the items out to you. Where possible we will therefore try to reuse as much of the older used packing materials as we can. Not only will this reduce our impact on the environment slightly, it also helps to keep our prices down.

Shipping timeline

We try to ship all orders no later than the next working day after it is placed. If we are unable to do this we will usually contact you to let you know that there is a delay and to give you the opportunity to cancel if the delay will be a problem.

Standard shipping

Our standard shipping service uses Royal Mail 48hr, EVRI 2-3 day service or a similar tracked service. Choice of service may be based on factors such as size and weight of the parcel or delivery destination as some couriers do not cover all areas. If you have a strong preference for a particular service then please contact us before placing your order

Express shipping

Our express shipping service will use Royal Mail 24hr, EVRI next day or a similar other service. Where possible we will try to dispatch in time to catch the earliest collection from our local courier drop-off location. However due to the variable nature of their collection times we cannot guarantee that there won't be a delay in collection from the drop-off location

If you need a faster service such as a Next Day Guaranteed service then please contact us in advance of placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Postage delays

Unfortunately it is a fact o of life that couriers do lose (temporarily or permanently) a small proportion of parcels that we send. The couriers have their own rules as to when they will consider a parcel lost and compensate the sender. We will only consider a parcel to be lost in transit once the couriers accept that it is. Only at this point will we issue a refund or send a replacement.

There are almost always delays with the postal service in the run-up to Christmas and other events throughout the year. We may try to select couriers that are delayed least but we cannot guarantee that your parcel will not be affected Please therefor order in plenty of time to meet your needs

Lost parcels

If a parcel is lost before the courier claim to have delivered it then it is our responsibility to deal with this. As above, once the courier accept it is lost then we will refund/replace.

If the courier claim that the parcel has been delivered then this is a dispute between the recipient and the courier and it is up to the recipient to deal with. We will do what we can but our ability to help is limited in such instances.
